Dr. Carmen A. Vazquez graduated in the top 10% of her class at Tuskegee University in Alabama, USA. Currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and accredited through the USDA APHIS National Veterinary Accreditation Program. She is a devoted Christian, veterinarian and the mother of four beautiful children, 2 Cornish Rex felines, 3 Siamese fighting fish, an African Meyer parrot, 2 Russian tortoises, a guinea pig and a dog. Dr. Carmen A. Vazquez’s devotion for animals began when she was a little girl and has lead to a very successful career in Veterinary Medicine.

Rosa M. Rodriguez was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, USA. Her lifetime devotion for animals has lead to an over 30 year career in the animal field. Rosa attended Colegio Ergos in Ponce, Puerto Rico from 1978 until 1984 during which time she volunteered her summers at the Ponce Animal Hospital with Dr. Humberto Zayas. Graduating with honors in 1984 she enrolled in the School of Agriculture at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez where she studied Pre-Veterinary medicine for three years. During summers she will volunteer at the Eastern Guard Dog Training Company in Humacao, Puerto Rico where her interest in dog behavior and dog training began. In 1987 she went to Milford, Connecticut and became a Certified Animal Trainer at the Unites States K-9 Academy with Dr. Jack Healy (one of the top trainers at the time). In 1987 she moved to Miami and worked as a dog trainer before becoming an animal care taker, trainer and a pet groomer for Dr. Barry A. Goldberg at the Kendale Lakes Pet Health Care Center in Miami. In 1993 she went to work for Dr. Jeffrey Davidson at West Kendall Animal Hospital where she learned most of her veterinary technician skills. In 1996 she got an offer she could not refuse and returned to work for Kendale Lakes Pet Health Care Center where she acquired many of her management skills and met Dr. Carmen A. Vazquez. In May 2002 Dr. Carmen A. Vazquez and Rosa started contemplating the idea of opening their own practice. In April 2004 they opened the doors at Animal Medical Center & Spa and have been servicing our community ever since. Rosa is a devoted Christian, a mother of 3 beautiful boys, a Great Dane and a domestic long hair cat.
